Nothing lasts forever

Last month I wrote about the fashion production in mid Tel Aviv, and even that was a month after the fact. This month's blog (yes we are down to monthly updates now) is about another shoot we did a week after the last production.

So, two months after, here's our pin-up mash-up fifties styling meets 90's models for some fusion photography.

Because retro is now vintage and vintage is making a comeback!

Styling, makeup and hair (and concept): Lee Swissa

Urban Winter

Winter holds a lot of great photographic opportunities, but you have to know where to find them. Golden hour, for example, can last close to two hours in the right weather, and here in Israel, it is very often the right weather.

We took a couple of models, some changes of clothes (we actually did 11 sets!) our make up artists from the last production, and made our way to central Tel Aviv. This time I wanted to do something entirely different and go urban, and still enjoy some of that warm (but not destructive) winter light.

Last Days of Summer

So it has been a while... again (sigh...)

I admit I haven't had time for blogging but I did keep busy in the photography front.

Last month I decided to challenge myself and go for something bigger and a lot more complicated than the last photoshoot I did at Weizmann... This time I had contacted three models, two make up artists and a stylist to do a life style shoot at the beach. Early morning, at Ashdod's fort beach. This was really much more difficult to arrange and shoot, but the end results are well worth it. Also, I've learned a number of lessons for the future...

Living Statues 2014

This year the living statues festival was in the summer again. That meant it was hot and uncomfortable for the participants and the photographers.

Most of these were taken with the Tamron 17-50 (my goto all-purpose lens) and a flash on a monopod to get some side lighting.

A similar setup was used on the last living statues event, and also on the one before that, and the first one I went to.

Fashion at WIS

Today I have a selection of photos from my first independent production / fashion shoot, with the lovely Liora.
I wanted to start simple with one model and one photographer. I wanted to do a shoot in Weizmann Institute of Science for a while now. Only recently did I have enough time to actually go ahead with it. It has been about a month of editing the pictures and selecting just a few from the 150+ I ended up with was not easy.

Model: Liora Finkelshtein
Make up artist: Shirli Castro
Styling: Chen Haver Asulin (from Lolipop Vintage Fashion
Director of photography: Keren Shalev

Thanks to everyone who participated. I hope the images were worth the wait...

End of the Dry Spell

After six months of being busy with work I've decided to get back to blogging. It has given me motivation to keep shooting, and I hope it will again.

I do want to change the format a little bit, going into shorter posts with less text. Perhaps I will also dedicate posts to specific technical stuff. We'll see how it goes. Oh, and also, I am trying out this bilingual thing.
